What is the swine flu?
It is a highly contagious respiratory disease that affected pigs. It produces one of the many influenza viruses. The mortality rate among humans, however, is low (between 1% and 4%). Infection is transmitted by direct contact with carrier animals, whose immune system is very similar to humans. Infections in humans are rare. Much more surprising is that it occurs between individuals.
The symptoms of swine flu are very similar to those of human influenza (cough, fever, headache and muscle pain), so it can get out of control if the guests of the virus do not attend promptly to the health authorities.
